According to the results published in the prestigious specialized magazine "Alles Über Wein", Bodegas Campo Burgo's young red wine of '94 obtained the maximum score during a tasting of 26 red wines of the 1994 harvest. The tasted wines, coming from Italy, France, Spain, Austria, Tunis, Greece and Germany itself, were selected in the main supermarkets in Germany out of the most consumed wines with a maximum price of seven DM.
The magazine says that "in the case of the Spanish wines only a Rioja deserved big praisement: "Viña Lombas" of '94 obtained the highest qualification".

A premiere...

The young Rioja '96 wins the race against Beaujolais in Germany.
Its first introduction to the German market 15 days before the famous "Beaujolais nouveau" meant a complete surprise for the addicts to this type of young wines, who did not know the possibilities of Rioja on this field. It also meant an unprecedented success for Bodegas Campo Burgo. Its new ï96 wine, produced with the first grapes picked in Rioja in the beginning of September, was bottled on the 1st of November and caused a magnificent impression amongst those specialists who were able to taste it together with the Bavaria cheeses at its presentation in the Gran Casino in Madrid. Next it was distributed in Germany, achieving a big sales success.
