Since it's
origins Bodegas Campo Burgo always made every
effort to achieve the best quality-price ratio
for their wines. With this policy they have
gained a place among the threemost important
exporters of Rioja and Navarra wines, with their
Bodegas Campo Burgo in Rioja and Vinos Catalán
Bozal in Navarra, respectively. The origins of
Campo Burgo date back to 1889, the year in which
D. Pedro de la Torre founded the Bodega in
Alfaro. The purchase by Don Julián Cantarero in
1969 was the start of a period of expansion and
innovation.

Bodegas
Campo Burgo, Rioja export leader in
1996.
The seven
and a half million bottles of Rioja wine exported by
Bodegas Campo Burgo in 1996 have situated this
company in the first place amongst the exporters of
Rioja, has affirmed in the certificate which was
issued by the Control Council. Something which not
only represents a memorable milestone in the already
centenary course of these wine cellars, but also an
important change in the commercial course of the
"Denominación de Origen Calificado"
(D.O.Ca.) Rioja, of which the export leadership over
the last ten years had been in the hands of the two
biggest Rioja bodegas. This success of Bodegas Campo
Burgo is the result of a resolute bet on the export
market and the culmination of the expansion line
which was undertaken a decade ago under firm
management of the Cantarero family. Founded in Alfaro
in 1889 and purchased by Mr. Julián Cantarero in
1969, in the last years Bodegas Campo has realized
important investments in enlargement and improvement
of its production and vintage facilities, as well as
in the plantation of vineyards and the reinforcement
of its commercial structure, basically in the foreign
market. Also it has been developping a quality policy
and a renewal of its image, which has converted it in
one of the Rioja bodegas with major future
projection.
