La Costa de la Luz is the part of the southern spanish coast on the atlantic ocean, in the provinces of Huelva and Cadiz running from the town of Ayamonte on the portuguese border to Tarifa, the most southern town of the European continent.

Further to the east it merges into la Costa del SOL.

The beaches in the province of Cadiz

The beaches of Chiclana de la Frontera , Conil de la Frontera, El Palmar, Caños de Meca/Zahora

Chiclana de la Frontera has ample beaches and a variety of services available. Beaches in natural state, with dunes, pine groves and cliffs of great beauty.
Suitable for the practice of scuba diving, Windsurf and the fishing.

Conil de la Frontera offers 14 kms of very varied beaches: from long sandy spots to lonely coves very appropriate for the nudism. Fine and golden sand and transparent and crystalline water. Ideal for the practice of nautical sports.

The beaches of El Palmar y de los Caños de Meca are kilometric beaches where you can enjoy a great tranquillity only altered by the wind of the area. The beaches of los Caños de Meca are still an example of the natural and savage beauty of Cadiz' coastline.

Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Chipiona, Rota y el Puerto

The beaches of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, located on the left margin of the mouth of the Guadalquivir river, extend throughout 7 km of fine golden sand. In the beach sanluqueña of the road is where it takes place the famous flat racing.

Chipiona is a place of traditional summering of Sevillian families, that in the last decades has bet of massive form. Rule, Shrimp Three stones, Cross of the Sea, are several of their superb beaches that are in the memory of many of their visitors

Rota is surrounded by 16 km. of beaches: la playa de la Costilla, la del Rompidillo, Virgen del Mar, El Chorrillo, Punta Candor y la Ballena

El Puerto de Santa María cuenta con 22 km. de costa de los cuales aproximadamente 15 son de playas. Las condiciones naturales de las playas portuenses son inmejorables, la arena es dorada y fina, la pendiente suave y las temperaturas del agua agradables.

Barbate ofrece 25 kilómetros de costa de excepcional calidad con playas de distintas características que forman un crisol de colores y sabores a punto de descubrir que pueden ser disfrutados en cualquier época del año.

Zahara de los Atunes Zahara de los Atunes is another of the marvelous and relatively virginal beaches of Cádiz. The town has a vivid nightlife.

Bolonia Bolonia is a beach that has very little construction done, but a ruin (Baelo Claudia) shows that the romans already liked this place.

Tarifa, the southern-most city of the European continent, offers 38 km of golden and fine sand beaches, and transparent waters, ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Tarifa is in fact considered the capital of windsurf and kitesurf of Europe.
