Mazagón is one of the most important tourist centres in the province of Huelva, and it is just 100 kilometres, approximately, from Seville and 40 kilometres from the provincial capital.. Mazagon is found in the municipal district of Moguer, in a priveleged location surrounded by protected spaces such as the Parque Nacional y Natural de Doñana, the Paraje Natural de Marismas del Odiel, the Laguna de las Madres, the Estero Domingo Rubio,… natural paradises within everyone’s reach. If we add to that the warmth of its fine sand (at the bottom of the sea there are hundreds of metres to discover), and the singularity of the small flows of fresh water which open in the sea, we can say that del Parador Beach (which systematically receives the Blue Flag) is not just a summery tourist enclave, but a Natural Area of extraordinary beauty and one of the most extensive and unspoilt beaches in Europe giving a genuine invitation to take part in water sports (Mazagón has a Leisure Harbour) and a collection of shells and conches with an abundance of species of particular beauty such as tellinas, tusks, espírulas, and caracolillos etc. The urban centre of Mazagón, (with an urban plan in equilibrium with the natural surroundings) invite activities such as cycling (there are numerous cycle paths around Mazagón) and also sampling local gastronomy in its numerous establishments as well as water sports thanks to the Leisure Harbour. It is the como a la degustación de la gastronomía costera en sus numerosos establecimientos, así como a la práctica de deportes náuticos gracias a su Puerto Deportivo. The Intermunipal Joint Management of Moguer- Palos de la Frontera is responsible for its management. |

The richness of its forests, its picturesque fauna, which it shares with its neighbour Doñana, the richness and variety of the fish, the incomparable infrastructure of the leisure port and the quality of its beaches, which systematically recieve the Blue Flag, have turned the Mazagon of today into a thriving tourist destination. Moguer y Mazagón enjoy exquisite seafood dishes such as cuttlefish with broad beans, cod with tomato, roe, cod stew…, as well as the delicious fish and fresh shellfood which you can sample in these parts such as prawns from the coast, sole , clams,…etc. The wines of the county are the perfect complement to wash down these delicacies. And obviously the strawberry, the dessert of these parts which look out over the Atlantic. From the 3rd to the 6th of August Mazagón Festival is celebrated. In the evening Mazagón becomes one of the most multitudinous of the province. For several days the spectacles, stalls and atmosphere mix with the enormous crowds who come to these summery festivals. |
