Villaluenga del Rosario - province of Cadiz, Spain
Villaluenga del Rosario is the white village at highest altitude of the Province of Cadiz. It is a pretty village, with steep streets, well spaced apart houses and flowers in doors and balconies.
It is located in the Nature Park of Grazalema and is on the Route of the White Villages of Cadiz.
Its houses have undulating roofs, where there are chimneys, narrow shutters, white facades and flowery balconies. They form a picturesque and harmonic unit, where the winter snow is ebullient, and make this location penetrate the souls of poets and the pupils of artists.
There is a constant murmur from the springs and the underground river which crosses this village. Its surroundings are a real paradise for mountaineering. There is also rabbit, partridge and deer hunting.
Of great interest are visits to the caves of "La Yedra" and "La Rajada", with their stalagtites and stalagmites, as well as the deep abysses which can be found in the surrounding areas such as del Republicano, la del Cacao, la del Cabo de Ronda y la de Villaluenga. Abyss of thel Republicano |
